There was a small opening act based on Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne, where I played Goopy and Biswanath Basu essayed the character of Bagha and it was highly appreciated by the people present at the function. The act was a tribute to the stalwart filmmaker Satyajit Ray and through it, we tried to highlight the rich culture and heritage of Bengal. Sayantika Banerjee, Ditipriya Roy, Subhashree, Monami Ghosh, Om, Koushani Mukherjee and Rezwan Rabbani Sheikh also gave brilliant performances on stage. After the event, we had a nice adda over tea and fish fry. The programme was also graced by Ranjit Mallick, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Indrani Haldar, Koel Mallick, Paoli, Nusrat Jahan, Raj Chakrabarty, among others.”
On the personal front, Shaheb recently sang a solo for Bickram Ghosh’s music album. “For a change, it is not Rabindrasangeet but a modern song in Bickram da’s composition. I hope people will like it,” said the actor, who is getting a lot of positive feedback after the trailer of Hridpindo was launched.
